GREASY CREEK GENERAL STORE
Since the fall of 2015, community events have worked their way into the fabric of who we are, and have become a big part of Greasy Creek General Store.
As a family, we've always enjoyed history and keeping old traditions alive. We also enjoy family-friendly activities, festivals, and craft shows. Now, we get to share with others some of what we love by hosting a variety of events here at the store throughout the year!

Scheduled for April 12th and 13th, 2019
Can history really be fun? It absolutely can!
We've seen hundreds of kids get excited about history when it's brought to life in fun ways. That's what the 1800's Day Spring Fest is all about.
The focal theme of this event is on historical education, and it's geared for school-age kids (though we always strive to be family-friendly and family-oriented). We try to keep everything as time-period as possible, and what isn't strictly 1800's will be the modern method of how it is done now with information on how it used to be done back in the day. All our vendors and staff will be dressed up in old-fashioned attire. Some will have demonstrations of old time crafts and trades, and some will have hands-on activities for the kids to participate in.
The 1800's Day Spring Fest is not so much a “craft show” as it is making historical education interesting to the next generation and keeping the dying arts of our heritage alive.
Vendor Information
• All crafts, items, and booths must fit the 1800’s theme.
• Vendors are required to dress in period attire.
• Booth fees are $30 per 10'x10' space, or $25 if paid a month in advance.
Special spacing can be arranged if needed.
Booth fee may be waived if you are not setting up to sell.

Community picnics are an old tradition and a lot of fun. With something like Little House On The Prairie in mind, we wanted to bring the community together for some Bluegrass Gospel music and old-fashioned fun.
The focal theme of this event is a community picnic atmosphere, complete with red and white checkered tablecloths, and is geared for families to spend the day together. Churches from Buffalo and our surrounding areas will be here with crafts, food, and baked goods as a fundraising opportunity for their ministries. There will also be other vendors set up with handmade crafts and wares. Family games will be set up, like volleyball, croquet, waterguns, and jump ropes! We also try to schedule live Bluegrass/Gospel music.
The Craft Show & Picnic is literally a combination of craft show booths and community picnic activies at a family-friendly venue.

There is no fee for churches to set up.
Scheduled for October 4th and 5th, 2019
The Fall Festival Craft Show is where all of our events started. What began as a simple Open House to bring out new fall products quickly turned into the biggest event of the year, and has continued to be one of the biggest highlights of Greasy Creek General Store!
The focal theme of the Fall Festival Craft Show is handmade arts and crafts, whether it's hairbows and windchimes or handtooled leather items. You'll also find baked goods and homecooked food around the grounds! Many of the vendors demonstrate their arts and crafts right here on site, providing information and entertainment to all ages. Carnival type games, storytelling, and hands-on activities are featured for the kids. As with any of our events, you'll find an undercurrent of historical education mixed into the festival fun.

The first Friday of November is Buffalo's city-wide Christmas Open House weekend. As a store, we participate by debuting our Christmas, holiday, and seasonal product lines. We also open up our Holcomb Lodge for other local businesses, especially those from the Buffalo area without a brick-and-mortar storefront, to set up and participate in the Christmas Shopping weekend! It's a great time to pick up unique gift items for friends and family while supporting local sellers!
We again promote the handmade crafts and wares from our local areas, but we also allow retail and direct sales vendors to join us for this Christmas Shopping weekend.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is Small Business Saturday, a day our nation recognizes and promotes small, locally owned businesses. We once again open up our Holcomb Lodge for local craft and retail businesses, especially those without a storefront, to set up and have a face during the busiest shopping season of the year! It's another great time to pick up unique gift items for friends and family while supporting local sellers!
